Tancook is just one of the 365 islands dotting Mahone Bay. Just three miles long and one mile wide, the island is 550 acres of shoreline, open fields and softwood forest dotted by ponds, tidy residential properties and fish stores.

On the far left in this photo you see the Mainland (Blandford) – Little Tancook Island in the middle – and Big Tancook Island (our island) on the far right. The smaller island in the distance is Ironbound (the famous subject of the book Rockbound)
